Initial spike in usage then drop anyone else seeing this pattern

An early spike followed by a drop usually means curiosity arrived before sustained value did. People tried the feature because it sounded new or exciting, but they did not find enough repeat utility to keep coming back. Novelty can open the door, but only usefulness keeps it open.

This is why launch numbers can be dangerously flattering. A burst of signups or clicks feels validating, yet it says very little about long-term fit. Retention tells a different story: whether the feature became part of someone’s actual workflow.

The right response is not panic. It is diagnosis. Look at which users returned, which flows created repeat usage, and where abandonment began. Often the answer is clearer positioning, tighter onboarding, or a more concrete outcome that people can depend on regularly.
