Feels like we are adding AI just to stay competitive not sure of real value

This is an important feeling to take seriously because it points to strategy drift. When teams add AI mainly to keep up with the market, they often build features that sound modern but solve weak or secondary problems. The result is activity without conviction.

Customers can sense that. If the feature does not remove friction, improve speed, increase confidence, or unlock a meaningful new job, it starts to feel like decoration. Even a technically strong implementation can underperform when the value proposition is vague.

The healthiest response is to step back and ask a blunt question: if AI disappeared from this product tomorrow, what meaningful loss would users feel? If that answer is unclear, the team probably needs sharper product reasoning before it needs more model work.
